Today we not only celebrate the postal worker, but we also celebrate the U.S. Postage Stamp. The postage stamp helps us send and receive mail with ease.

Did you know...
Before the postage stamp, the cost of sending a letter was actually given to the recipient?
The postal worker would deliver the letter to the desired destination, and would only then, collect the money for the postage. Due to this, there were often times when the recipient would refuse the letter, leaving the cost to the postal service.

The postage stamp completely reinvented this whole process, leading to a simpler, smoother system of delivering mail!

Celebrate today, by designing your very own postage stamp!
