stamps: glade creek grist mill

Image from: uspsstamps.com

With this stamp, the U.S. Postal Service® celebrates one of West Virginia's most photographed landmarks, the Glade Creek Grist Mill.

Located in Babcock State Park in Fayette County, West Virginia, the mill looks as though it has existed on that site for hundreds of years. In reality, it is a modern re-creation, completed in 1976, of a mill that had once stood nearby on Glade Creek. The look is authentic, however, as the new mill was constructed from parts taken from three historic West Virginia mills.

Art director Derry Noyes designed the stamp with original art by Dan Cosgrove.

The Glade Creek Grist Mill stamp will be issued at the Priority Mail® price.

stamps: celebrity chefs

Image from: today.com

The Celebrity Chef stamps will honor five of the nation's favorite chefs, James Beard, Julia Child, Joyce Chen, Edna Lewis and Felipe Rojas-Lombardi.

The chefs selected represent a wide array of cuisines reflecting the "melting pot" that is American culture.

This is the first time that chefs will appear on postage stamps. Each of the stamps was digitally illustrated in a style to resemble oil paintings.

You can read more about the Celebrity Chefs stamps here.

business cards.

I was given the opportunity to place some of my business cards into 50+ swag bags being given out at a local craft fait in October. I wanted to design something that would serve multiple purposes. I decided on a square business card as it breaks away from the normal and is just an all around fun shape. Then I decided to do a double-sided business card. One side has my freelance graphic design information on it (Postmarked Designs) while the other side advertises my letter writing blog! I am very pleased with the way they turned out and excited to start handing them out!

Are you in the market for Business Cards? I had these printed at moo.com and I highly recommend them! Their quality is great and they have three different size business cards to choose from!

etsy packaging.

I recently decided to start using my gocco machine again. I wanted to decorate some bags for all of my easy orders, so I made a screen with all of my blog information matching my new branding on it and started printing away.
The pink ink was a little to thin, so didn't print as well as the blue ink. Overall, I am very pleased with how they turned out though. I am excited to start using them for packing future etsy orders!
