stamps: batman

Image from: uspsstamps.com

For 75 years, Batman has protected Gotham City from the forces of evil. Since his debut, he has become one of the most iconic super heros in history. This year, the U.S. Postal Service® chronicles the evolution of the character, from his origins to present day.

This new issuance showcases eight unique designs in a sheet of 20 stamps. Four versions of the iconic DC Comics super hero are depicted from four eras of comic book history. In addition, there are four incarnations of the Bat-Signal.

Art director Greg Breeding designed the stamp sheet.

The Batman stamps are being issued as Forever® stamps.

letter writing mix tape.

What kind of music do you like to listen to while writing letters, if any at all? I was thinking back to my wedding the other day (vintage love letter theme) and thought it would be fun to put a list together for you all of some letter writing songs. Make yourself a mix, grab some paper and a pen and write a letter!

"P.S. I love You" - The Beatles

"My Baby Wrote me a Letter" - The Box Tops

"Signed, Sealed, Delivered" - Stevie Wonder

"Embers & Envelopes" - Mae

"Please Read the Letter" - Robert Plant & Alison Krause

"I'm Gonna Sit Right Down & Write Myself a Letter" - Fats Waller & His Rhythm

"Box Full of Letters" - Wilco

"Love Letters" - Ketty Lester

"Return to Sender" - Elvis Presley

stamps: glade creek grist mill

Image from: uspsstamps.com

With this stamp, the U.S. Postal Service® celebrates one of West Virginia's most photographed landmarks, the Glade Creek Grist Mill.

Located in Babcock State Park in Fayette County, West Virginia, the mill looks as though it has existed on that site for hundreds of years. In reality, it is a modern re-creation, completed in 1976, of a mill that had once stood nearby on Glade Creek. The look is authentic, however, as the new mill was constructed from parts taken from three historic West Virginia mills.

Art director Derry Noyes designed the stamp with original art by Dan Cosgrove.

The Glade Creek Grist Mill stamp will be issued at the Priority Mail® price.
